Rise of Kingdoms Tier 5 Requirements – How to unlock Tier 5 Faster

How-to-unlock-tier-5-units-fast-in-Rise-Of-Kingdoms- (1)

Unlocking Tier 5 troops (units) in Rise of Kingdoms is hard but possible. You will need to upgrade buildings to level 25, and research all technology. I got my tier 5 troops (units) in ROK as a free-to-play player, so I know what it takes to get tier 5 troops (units). So let’s start with steps.

I will show you some tips and tricks on how to get them faster. If you are free to play, you can unlock tier 5 units too, but it will take time and commitment. Also, play Rise of Kingdoms on your PC if you want to have a better experience and play without lag.

Tier 5 Research Time Requirements

ROK T5 requirements: You need to have every type of building on level 25 and military max research the same as the economy. You want to upgrade your academy and city hall to level 25 as fast as you can.

The time you need to research Tier 5 troops depends on a lot of factors, including:

  • Are you in a whale alliance?
  • How much money do you spend on ROK?
  • Are you a free-to-play player?
  • Are you active, etc.?

Buildings requirement to unlock Tier 5

There’s some good and bad news regarding the buildings you’ll need to build to unlock your T5 troops. The good news is that on your journey, you’re going to take the academy to level 25 that’s required, and doing so would give you a solid 7% extra research boost from level 24.

The bad news is that Academy 25 requires just about every building in your city to be level 25.

Now, let’s talk about some of the buildings and their requirements.

Castle

You need to start destroying forts as much as you can. You need so many books to up Castle.

From level 24 to level 25, you need 5,000 books. Or if you want to spend money, this is where you need to invest your gems. The best time to buy books is during more than gem events.

I did it the hard way with farming barbarian forts. Now, how do I get most books with fewer attack points? For this, you need a peacekeeper commander and a farm account.

You want to go far away from your alliance. You will do forts only with your two accounts. Now it is hard to kill forts in levels 4 and 5. But you can easily solo forts that are 1, 2, and 3.

You will start the rally on level 3 Fort with your main account and then join the rally with your farm account. While you are on your farm account, start at level 2, then go back to the main account and join the rally.

Repeat this as much as you can. Now you are wondering why you should do this. Because you will have more damage done to the fort, your drop chance will be higher, and you will get 5 books.

Watchtower

Max Watchtower

For Watchtower, you need arrows. They are no problem to get, so do not spend gems on them.

It is better to buy books for the castle. The best way to get arrows for Watchtower is by killing barbarians during the Lohar trial event.

When you kill a barbarian during the Lohar trial event, you will get a necklace that contains random items. You will get so many arrows and good items from killing barbarians during the Lohar event.

Academy

Academy is the last building to get tier 5 units and to build it, you need to build all the other buildings first.

Other Buildings

Now for other buildings, you do not need books or arrows, but you will need gems to buy blueprints. Blueprints are used to level buildings from level 24 to level 25.

The total number of buildings that need blueprints is 16, and every blueprint costs 2,000 gems. So that is the total cost of 32K gems.

Castle, scout camp, and watchtowers do not require blueprints. You do not need more than one hospital, farm, quarry, gold mine and lumber mill.

Research Requirements

Here, we are going to talk about the amount of time the research takes, the different things that are required, and some approaches you can use to shrink the number of speed-ups you will need to use.

Firstly, you will have to maximize every single thing in economic Economic Technology. Maxing out all of these will benefit you profoundly as you’re powering up in Rise of Kingdoms.

Coming to Military Technology, you will need combat tactics, defensive formation, and herbal medicine to level 10 to work your way toward T5. This would enable you to take your cartography to 5, which will be maxed as well.

Instead of going all-in on one troop type, you should do a bunch of research that will give you a whole lot of stats for the troop types you care about and want.

Kore will increase the speed of research, so definitely use it. It is the best civilization in Rise of Kingdoms for new players.

Tip and Tricks to Get tier 5 fastest possible

After carrying out the research, around 1,000 speed-ups are still needed to unlock your first T5 troop. Quite frankly, that’s a lot of speed-ups. However, there are a lot of ways to reduce the time it would take to do this research.

We will now talk about all the things that reduce the time to conduct this research because, as you go further in the game, these micro-optimizations will start adding up.

Gathering: get your commander to level 37 and go farm. You will need a lot of resources. Turn on your in-game notifications. You will get a notification every time your commanders come back from gathering.

action points

Spend your action points: Do not let your bar go to full. You want to spend every free attack point.

Universal speedups: Do not spend your universal speedups on building, healing and training troops. Use all universal speedups for research. I know pain when your hospital is full, but you only have universal speedups to heal them. My advice is to just exit the rise of kingdoms. If you spend 20 days of universal speedups on healing, you will be 20 days away from tier 5 units.

Alliance technology: find an alliance that has the most research on the max level and that controls most of the altars.

Whale alliance: find a whale alliance. Work on it. Do what you must to enter the whale alliance. The amount of rewards that you will receive from whale players that are spending in-game is insane. This will boost your progress by 50%.

Runes: Before building or doing your research, you want to find a rune. It will help you so much. The best runes are in the center of the map.

Kingdom title: Do not be shy. Go to World Chat and ask for a title for 5 minutes so you can do your research or build.

Kingdoms buffs

Kingdoms buffs: If your king is normal, he will use Kingdoms buffs when the good rune is on the map.

The best time to use universal speedups: The best time is when you get a rune, which will give you a 15% boost + kingdom buff + kingdom title. Then you will go all in and use all of your speedups.

Rise of Kingdoms VIP Level

VIP LEVEL: Among the various ways to improve your research speed, one of the most important is VIP. VIP 12 offers some additional research speed along with building speed at VIP 10. These buffs exist and continue to accumulate all the way up to VIP Level 15, where you get additional building and research speed. Beyond that, you get a bunch of other goodies that are solid but aren’t going to help you unlock T5 faster.

If you don’t have all the buffs discussed above and you need to do some research, we recommend saving some smaller research items, like a siege, attack, or defense, for when you’re in between doing all these different buffs for 100+ days. This would enable you to time out some nice buffs, runes, and so forth.

Just to give a perspective on how long some of these big research projects take, we should talk about combat tactics level 9, which, on average, takes 65 days. On the other hand, combat tactics level 10 takes an average player around 100 days.

Courier Station: For every single speedup that you can buy with resources, you have to buy it. If you have not seen Merchant for a long time, go and use some training speedups, and you will have the chance to summon her.

Events List

Events: Try to finish every event that comes in the Rise of Kingdoms.

Kingdom vs. Kingdoms: KVK is the best time to focus on the game. There are so many rewards that you can get during KVK. Better barbarians, better forts, and you can easily farm gems. You want to do every single thing that you can do in Better barbarians, improved forts, and the ability to easily farm gems are among the many rewards available during kvk.

If you see an alliance from your kingdom that is doing first-time gates or other buildings, go and ask them to join and help. You will get free gems, speedups, etc. Look to kvk rewards and make a plan on how to get them all. Just do not be AFK during kvk.

I am hoping that I helped in some way. Just be focused on the game and play it daily. You do not need to play it 10 hours a day. All you need to do daily is send farmers and kill barbarian forts. But the best advice that I can give you if you are planning to get tier 5 in the Rise of Kingdoms is to find a kingdom that is strong and that has a lot of big spenders.

The rewards that you will get when you spend money are insane. It will boost your ROK T5 research time by 50%. This guide is more focused on free-to-play players and small spenders, but if you are a big spender, you will find this guide useful too.

Why Should You Unlock T5 Troops

T5 troops have substantially higher stats than their T4 counterparts. This can be observed by going into any of the training buildings and clicking on the info button provided with the different troop types.

The stats given do translate to hugely more effective punches on the battlefield. However, this comes at an incredibly steep cost, not only for training the troops in the first place but also for repairing them whenever damage occurs.

The repair is said to be so steep that it takes up hundreds and thousands of resources just to repair one troop at a time. Even pro-T5 players who are extremely efficient at gathering thousands of resources in a single go struggle with the repair cost of T5 troops.

This should be enough to say that a player who wants to unlock T5 troops should be extremely cautious when using them. These are not ordinary troops that can be used without a thought or two. Playing smart and being efficient with them is crucial.

If you’re a really big spender and you’ve got some of the best commanders, or if you’re a free-to-play player focused on a couple of legendaries, then it is safer to go all-in on the T5 troop types associated with your commanders.

Bringing out T5 Troops with a bunch of legendary commanders could spell a huge hospital bill, so it’s best to avoid it. But, if we present our two cents, we believe that T5 has a very special role in the Rise of Kingdoms, where they can be used in different situations in unique ways.

Which T5 Troop Should You Unlock First

The question that arises is: is it going to be infantry, cavalry, or archers?

Cavalry

Tier 5 Cavalry

A lot of players strongly advocate cavalry, and they have their reasons, as cavalry is used a lot in many situations in Rise of Kingdoms. But let’s revert to what we discussed earlier about the repair cost of T5 being very steep.

Infantry

Tier 5 Infantry

If you invested a whole lot in legendary infantry commanders, and that’s all you’ve got, but you have maxed out Richard the First or Charles Martel, then infantry is probably the best pick because that’s where all your best commanders are.

Infantry is going to be great for defending structures, and having those as T5 is a mighty fine first get.

Archers

Tier 5 Archers

If you have gone all-in on archers, which seems unlikely, you could go for archers as your first T5 unlock. But we would recommend steering away from that path.

Archers are countered by cavalry, and people will be using a whole lot of cavalry in the open field because they march faster. So steering away from archers would be your best bet.

In the end, just think about what legendary commanders you have at your disposal of high caliber, especially if you want to field fight with them. Moreover, we would steer you more towards cavalry or infantry, nudging you away from archers and a hard no on siege units as your first T5 unlock.

When Should You Unlock T5 Troops

T5 Troops

As it turns out, there is typically one event every quarter that has a cross-continent battle to get a city skin. The event is oriented towards gaining power, which can last anywhere from 4 days to 10 days.

If you are unlocking T5 Troops in this style of event, you will have an unbelievable amount of leverage that you could convert into potentially winning a city skin while unlocking your T5 Troops.

If you hoard up an unbelievable amount of resources, speed-ups and power all in a single, short window, you could gain enough power in that period to do extremely well in the event.

However, the downside of this is that it is extremely stressful, and there is a non-zero chance for you to get beat out trying to get into position for this event and power up a lot.

You can compete at these events, which is why the T5 players struggle because gaining power by training T5 troops is very speedy compared to the amount of power you can gain by doing research and building all at once.

With all that being said, we would probably steer you towards the incremental route of unlocking your T5 and speeding up some of the major things during events like the Mightiest Governor Cycle and Power Gain Day.

That would be a good opportunity to just do a bunch of research and pick events that reward you for doing research, depending on the number of minutes you have spent speeding up.

To summarize, you are going to have a moment of leverage, not only because of what we talked about with events where you can gain power but also because you are going to be in a position where you might want to go in and do a lot of upgrading from T4 to T5.

That upgrading process is going to take the difference in time that it would take to train a T4. So, it’s a fraction of the time, and it gives you the points that make the difference between T4 and T5. So, this means you get the bulk of points for a fraction of speed-ups.

Consequently, upgrading T4 to T5 is the single most efficient way to gain a whole lot of points. This will give you tremendous leverage when using it to upgrade your T4.

Conclusion

T5 Troops are some of the best troops in Rise of Kingdoms. But these troops have to be unlocked in order for them to be used in the game. We hope this article helped you in figuring out how to unlock these T5 Troops.
