Rise Of Kingdoms Best Civilization Tier List All Kingdoms Ranked 2024

How to select the best civilization in Rise Of Kingdoms

Here’s a blog post for all of you out there that are wondering which civilization is the best in Rise of Kingdoms ever since the latest game update.

Before diving into the details, you need to be aware that choosing the Rise of Kingdoms best civilization (Nation) mostly depends on the phase of the game you’re currently playing at. There’s a huge difference between simply starting out and beginning, getting prepared for KvK, actually participating in KvK, or simply enjoying the afterlife of the KVK season.

There are three categories of civilizations, according to their purpose. Different civilizations (Nation) are good for different purposes and require different styles of playing. When the player knows what every civilization entails, they can choose the one they want very easily. It becomes very simple to decide on Rise of Kingdoms Best Civilization once the player has complete knowledge.

If the player’s main aim is to develop their area, build a vast town, and have a great commerce system, they should go with the French civilization. It is the best one for development.

If the main aim of the player is to engage in combat, build armies and win battles with their enemies, then Germany, Britain, Korea, Arabia, Ottoman Empire, and Byzantine civilizations are the best ones that they should choose from.

If the player wanted a balance of both development of towns and the chance to engage in epic battles, they should choose one from Rome, Spain, China, and Japan civilizations.

Once the player knows the details of the Rise of Kingdoms Best Civilization , they can plan out their best strategy and style of playing. For example, if they like more of a quiet game, they can choose France, Spain, or China. However, if they desire fighting battles and want to play a more active game, they can choose one of the civilizations good for combat.

Choosing the best civilization for Beginners

In Rise of Kingdoms instead of faction, you will find historical civilizations. Choosing the right civilization for beginners in Rise of Kingdoms should be an easy choice – since there are only two possible candidates: China and Britain.

My personal choice is to always start with China. Remember, these people built the Great Wall before we even had a word for it…meaning that you shouldn’t be surprised with receiving a 5% building speed bonus you’ll be getting just by selecting China.

Keep in mind that you’ll be making a ton of buildings in your early game. Furthermore, the action point recovery of 5% is going to do wonders for you, not to mention that Sun-tzu iconSun Tzu is by far the best epic commander in the game…so pick China as a starting civilization.

Your second choice (and the only one remaining) in our guide is Britain. In my humble opinion, Britain is a decent option since you’ll be getting an “infinite” amount of Boudica iconBoudica sculptures, not to mention the additional troop training speed. However, as time goes by you might want to switch over to China. The reason already being mentioned above: 5% building speed and action point recovery which should result in huge amounts of resource collection as you scale up.

But to make it easier for you, just stick with China in the early game.

Choosing the best civilization for Kingdom vs. Kingdom Phase

The best civilization for the KvK phase mostly depends on your role in the entire event. So before making a final selection please ask yourself these questions:

  • Am I supposed to be a Field Fighter?
  • Am I supposed to be a Rally Leader?
  • If I’m a Rally Leader, what am I using for my rallies?
  • Am I supposed to be a Garrison Captain?

Field Fighter – France

If you’re a field fighter, you’ll be using way too much healing speed-ups, meaning that you’ll also run out of them quite fast. You can avoid this by simply swapping to France and enjoying the benefits of 20% hospital healing speed.

Not a Field Fighter nor rally leader nor Garrison Captain – Germany

Germany is a nice option when you’re not doing a lot of field fighting (meaning that you’re not running out of healing speed ups). You’ll get 5% troop training speed, 10% action point recovery, 5% cavalry attack. This should give you a very nice value during and after the  KvK. Also the benefits of having a special Cavalry unit are great in every situation

Rally Leader – Arabia

Arabia is a number one choice for rallying, due to the fact that you’ll be getting an amazing 5% increase in damage dealt by rallied armies.

Rally Leader Archery – Ottoman Empire

An alternative would be to settle for an Ottoman Empire but only if you’re leading archer rallies since you’ll be getting a 5% increase in archer health alongside a 5% skill damage boost.

Garrison Captain Infantry – Rome

Selecting Rome will result in having a 5% increase in infantry defense, 10% food gathering speed while the troop march speed is at a decent 5% increase as well.

Best civilization after KvK

Rise Of Kingdoms Spain

Most of the folks are done with strong building after the KvK which means that it’s time to move away from our dear China. If you still feel you could spend time building things you can still stick with China but otherwise I’d suggest moving to the best civilization overall which is going to be Germany.

Troop training speed is amazingly good, action point recovery is even better, the cavalry unit is good and will remain solid throughout the entire time…all of it making Germany the best civilization for between the KvK phases.

What about the other civilizations

These are kind of alternative approaches, but due to their “special” abilities I’ve felt it’s nice to list them in one place.

Spain: Quite solid for the early game, if you want to power up your commanders – mostly because of the extra 10% experience boost against the barbarians.

Korea: Has a special purpose for “Whales” but that’s about it (mostly because of the research speed).

Japan: Use only on farm accounts, don’t use it on your main accounts.

What should I do if I don’t want to switch civilization?

If you’re not into doing all of this sophisticated swapping and you want to stick just with one civilization then I suggest you select Germany.

Best choice for most people, troops are great, action points are amazing.

Having other civilizations in mind? Please send us an e-mail and will try to cover different approaches in the following posts. In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy playing Rise of Kingdoms.

Britain

The Britain civilization is led by the commander Boudica iconBoudica, a fierce commander who deals massive amounts of damage and is a reliable commander for both player vs player matches as well as player vs environment matches.

She has many skills that make her a huge threat to enemies, and building her talent trees will make her even more powerful, so if you decide to go with the Britain civilization, this is the way to go.

She also has a strong talent build and commander pairings, so using Boudica iconBoudica will prove to bring a lot of value to your game. However, she has a low rage generation and reduction and only tends to one specific troop type. But, using her for only the starting of the game is pretty useful, so don’t hesitate to use the Britain civilization if you are a new player.

Britain’s special unit is longbowman and the stats increase the archer attack by five percent. In addition to this, the speed at which you train your troops increases by five percent and the garrison ally capacity will increase by twenty percent.

British civilization creates a combination of both offensive and defensive strategies, and this is extremely helpful while you are playing the game, especially if you want a more balanced game to play. This is because you will be able to help train your units faster and have stronger archers, as well as having a high garrison capacity. It is pretty important for you to have a high garrison capacity because it will give you the ability to have more units and increase your strength.

Germany

The next Civilization is that of Germany, led by the powerful and well-known commander Hermann iconHermann. He is one of the best archer commanders in the rise of kingdoms and makes the German Civilization so worthwhile as the first Civilization you choose in the rise of kingdoms.

He has a massive rage generation which means his active skills will fire off very often, which makes him a valuable commander in the game. He will clearly bring a lot of value to your game, so if you want tankines and rage generation above all else, Hermann iconHermann and the German civilization is the way to go.

The special unit in the German Civilization is the Teutonic knight, and it has pretty remarkable stats. It gives you an increased cavalry attack by 5 percent, and increased troop training speed also by five percent as well as an added ten percent of action point recovery.

So, you can choose Germany as your first Civilization for the exact opposite reason of why you would choose Rome, because it gives you a boost for building and growing your army. You should especially consider using this Civilization if you want to start getting into the player vs player mode of the rise of kingdoms.

It gives you quick growth and the increased attack capacity means that farming kills will be a lot easier. Although, you should keep in mind that using a civilization like this could possibly cause you to die early because of the intense attack capacity.

So, if you want to focus on strong attack, this is the Civilization that you should go with.

China

The leader of the Chinese Civilization is Sun-tzu iconSun Tzu, a commander who is one of the most renowned ones in the entire game. The special unit is chu ko nu and the stats are not that impressive but are not too bad either. There is a three percent increase in troop defense, a five percent increase in action point recovery and a five percent increase in the building speed of the army.

The Chinese army has a powerful defense because of Sun-tzu iconSun Tzu, known for his defense. With this commander, enemies will have a hard time getting to you.

Middle tier of Civilizations

Korea

Kore civilization

Kore is best is the best civilization in Rise of kingdoms. With Korea Civilization You will get a valuable research bonus that will save so much time with researching the technology. Eulji-Mundeok iconEulji is the ruler of the Korean Civilization and has a special unit of hwarang. The stats bring an increased archer defense by five percent, increased hospital capacity by fifteen percent and an increased research speed by three percent.

This Civilization thrives on defense and consequently has one of the best defenses in the entire game.

Arabia

Arabia civilization

The Commander for Arabia is Bajbars. Arabia offers increased power for attack by the cavalry, It also has increased power of providing damage by the army. Arabia is a great civilization for warfare.

Japan

Japan Civilization

The Japanese commander is Kusunoki-Masashige iconKusunoki, who has a special unit of samurai. This commander will be a useful part of your game because of his tactics and massive strength. The stats of this civilization increase troop attack by three percent, increase march speed by thirty percent and increase gathering speed by five percent, all of which are very solid stats.

This Civilization thrives in its tactical awareness and development of strategies. The bonuses give them the ability to easily explore the map and recognize zones that can be attacked or used for safety.

The gathering speed too makes it a good civilization to start your game with.

France

France civilization

The France civilization is led by Joan-of-Arc-primary iconJoan Of Arc Prime, an epic commander who has a high versatility and is pretty useful for things like gathering, player vs player matches and events. She is probably one of the finest epic commanders, especially for player vs player matches, and she will be the best option for you if you want to participate in some of the events like sunset canon, golden kingdom and lost canyon.

She provides considerable support and is universally a good choice to make. Even though she has a low march speed and low stats, she is a good commander to use in the game.

The special unit in the French Civilization is the throwing axeman, and there are stats of an increased troop health of three percent, increased wood gathering speed by ten percent, and increased healing speed of about twenty percent. This makes the French Civilization very valuable and a good choice for you to make, especially if you are a new player.

This is the best Civilization you can have if you want to focus on your farming. The commander has many bonuses as well as increased speed of wood gathering and other things. This is the best Civilization for players who want to invest in themselves and gather quickly.

Spain

Spain Civilization

The Spanish civilization is led by Pelagius iconPelagius, an epic commander with skills and talents that focus on cavalry attack units and defense. This special unit is conquistador, and the stats bring an increased cavalry defense by five percent, increased barbarian experience by ten percent and an increased production of resources by twenty percent.

This Civilization is the best choice for new players who are just starting out in the game. They allow players to level up their commanders rapidly and help them develop their cities more quickly because of the high level of resource production that it brings. There is also an increased amount of cavalry defense so that helps prevent enemies from attacking you early in the game.

So, if you are starting out in the game and want to level up your commanders soon, the Spanish Civilization is the one that you should choose.

Ottoman Empire

ottoman empire civilization

The Commander for Ottoman Empire is Osman iconOsman. this civ has faster archers and marching speed. It also has an increased capacity for damage to the skull. This is one of the weakest civilizations and does not have many benefits.

Byzantium

Byzantium civilization

The Commander for Byzantium is Belisarius iconBelisarius. It does not have many benefits except an increased speed for gathering stones and increased hospital capacity. This civilization is not very useful except for training more cavalry.

Rome

Rome Civilization

The Commander for Rome is Scipio AfricanusScipio Africanus. Rome is alright as a civilization to choose if the player is a beginner and does not know much about the game. It gives an increased defense from the infantry and allows faster marching of troops. It also has a 10% increased speed of gathering food. Beginner players can develop their town and troops well in this civilization.

The first Civilization we will talk about is Rome. It is headed by Scipio AfricanusScipio Africanus who is a powerful commander in the rise of kingdoms. He is an infantry commander, which means he is exceptional on the battlefield. His skills are very powerful, and he is a force to be reckoned with in the rise of kingdoms.

The special unit of Rome Civilization is the legionary unit, and the stats are remarkable. There is an infantry defense increase of 5 percent, the march speed of the troops will increase by 5 percent and finally, the speed at which you gather your food will also increase by 5 percent if you use the Rome civilization in the rise of kingdoms.

Many beginners prefer to have the Rome civilization as their first one because it has good defensive bonuses and has good gathering speed. This means that even inexperienced players can thrive with the Rome civilization as it is almost as if they are being defended automatically. Plus, Scipio AfricanusScipio Africanus is a fearsome commander, and enemies would hesitate before attacking.

So, in short, if you want to focus on your defense, this is the Civilization for you.

Should I swap a civilization in ROK?

First things first, “Why on Earth should I swap a civilization” – this is a question we get a lot, especially from a bit more experienced players. And the most honest answer is a simple one: “Different civilizations have different benefits that you can utilize depending on the phase of the game!”.

Although swapping civilizations may feel like a gigantic change and effort for such a small return on investment (so-called “micro-optimization”) this is only true if you’re looking at a very short-term period of time. If you’re a dedicated ROK player and you’re planning to remain one for a very long period of time then swapping civilizations is going to be the best decision you’ve ever made.

How to change civilization in Rise of Kingdoms?

Don’t spend 10.000 gems for change civilizations! I repeat, don’t spend 10.000 gems for swapping civilizations in ROK! The thing you should do is to navigate to the alliance shop and purchase “Civilization Change” using your individual credits. Now I know that most players are saving individual credits to purchase migration passports but if you are not planning to migrate you can spend your credits on passports.

Why is civilization important?

In the rise of kingdoms, civilizations are the backbone of the game. Through them, you will make all your other game decisions, like that of your army. Hence, whichever Civilization you start with makes a huge difference in your game. This is especially the case if there is a specific strategy that you want to follow in the game.

Civilization Types

There are a few civilization types in the game, which we will go through in detail. There is Rome, Germany, Britain, France, Spain and China. Each Civilization has a specific commander and unit and has stats that are totally unique to the Civilization. We will go through these specifications for each of the civilizations.

Knowing all about Rise Of Kingdoms Best Civilizations, the players can make an informed decision about which nation might be the best one for them. A player can change their nation’s choice by using 10,000 Gems or by spending 2,000,000 Alliance Currency. Do not forget to use Rise Of Kingdoms redeem codes that can contain gems witch will help you with civilization change cost. It will help them build their towns quicker, train their troops better, and conquer the whole map faster.
