Lu Bu Guide

In this guide, you will learn everything about Lu Bu and his best talent tree build. Everything that you need to know about Lu Bu in Rise Of Kingdoms.

Lu Bu is a legendary commander so you will have to invest a lot of sculptures in him if you want to have it max. Problem is that Lu Bu is a commander that is for attacking objectives and if you are free to play he is not worth maxing. Leave it to pay to win players. For an alternative you can check out the list of best ROK Commander. Now in our observation, he is an average commander that can be used with the only purpose and that is to lower the defense of enemy commanders. So he will be great as a support rally but not as the main rally.

  • Great commander for supporting other rallies
  • Can hit 3 targets at the same time
  • Strong debuff
  • Not for free to play
  • Not great for field battles
  • Low nuke damage

Lu Bu Talent Tree Build

If you are planning to use Richard as a garrison commander then go with garrison talent tree build but I would suggest you full tank talent tree build. You will use 90% of times Richard as primary commander on the field and garrison build is terrible for field battles.

Lu Bu Pairings

Read more about our best rise of kingdoms commander pairings.

Diaochan iconDiaochan

well this pair is obvious. They have synergy but when you compare it to Attila and Takeda you can see that this pair is bad. Diaochan can not perform so well. So use this pair if you do not have another one.

Attila iconAttila

Attila is one of best commanders for rallying objectives and with insane buffs from Attila and Lu Bu defense reduction it will make them a great pair.

Chandragupta-Maurya iconChandragupta Maurya

He will be a great pair for Lu Bu. Lu Bu will provide defense debuff and Chandragupta Maurya will do skill damage. overall decent pair.

Other pairs are not so great so if you do not have these 3 commanders it is best not to invest in Lu Bu.

Lu Bu Skills

Sky Piercer Sky Piercer

Rage Requirement: 1000

Active Skill

Upgrade Preview:
Direct Damage Multiplier -400/500/600/700/800
Defense Reduction – 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%

This skill is only one that is good. This is why Lu Bu is a great rally supporting commander. Also it can hit 3 targets at same time so that is great.

Horse of Horses Horse of Horses

Passive Skill

Troops led by this commander deal 2% increased damage when attacking cities.

Upgrade Preview:

Damage increase – 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%

Well this skill is bad. 10% is ok but not that great and it only works when you are attacking the city with Lu Bu.

Man of Men Man of Men

Passive Skill
Troops led by this commander gain 3% increased attack. Normal attacks have a 10% chance to increase the attack of troops led by this commander by 30% (or 50% when troops include Diao Chan) for 3 seconds. This effect can trigger at most once every 5 seconds.

Upgrade Preview:

Attack bonus – 3% / 6% / 9% / 12% / 15%
Attack bonus – 30% / 40% / 50% / 65% / 80%
Attack bonus (with Diaochan) – 50% / 65% / 80% / 100% / 120%

This skill would be great for Lu Bu but they limited him on Diaochan. But overall it is not bad.

Flying General Flying General

Upgrade Preview:
Troops capacity bonus: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%
Rally capacity bonus: 2% / 4% / 6% / 8% / 10%

This skill is bad. Yes it can increase the troop capacity of your rally but you do not want that. You need more damage buffs and nuke.
