In Rise of Kingdoms, Lapulapu is a legendary Garrison commander. He has the Leadership, Garrison, and Skill talent trees. Lapulapu is a great commander for defending your city but when it comes to other types of fighting like open field, garrison, and rallying he is extremely bad.

Should you invest in Lapulapu?

No, you should not invest your commander sculptures in Lapulapu. It doesn’t matter if you are free to play or pay to win, it simply is not worth it. He is designed for a garrisoning city where you have mixed troops and there is a chance that players will swarm you. But let’s be real: when will your city be attacked? If you are careful and position yourself right on the map your city will never be attacked. Also, allowing your city to get attacked is the worst thing that you can do if you are a free-to-play player.

It is better to save your commander sculptures for future commanders that will be implemented to invest in some current commanders that are overpowered and that you will be able to use for open field and garrison.

When should I use Lapulapu?

There is a special scenario when Lapulapu can be good and that is for your farm account and baiting attacks on your city.

On a farm account, usually you do not fight but you use it to fill up flags and garrisons with troops so you do not need good commanders. This is when you can invest in Lapulapu so you can boost the protection of your city and take less damage if you make mistakes that will allow enemy players to attack your city.

There are some players who love to troll, bait, and take attacks on their city. If you are one of those players then you can invest in Lapulapu.

Lapulapu Pairings

Heraclius is the best commander that you can pair with Lapulapu. They are both leadership and garrison commanders, and they have great synergy together. If you do not have Heraclius then you can use Gorgo but she is better for open field. There are not a lot of other options that are great for Lapulapu. If you do not have Heraclius or Gorgo, then you can use any AOE commander with Lapulapu.
