Cao Cao Talent Tree Build

We don’t suggest you use Cao Cao as the primary commander. However, if you are using
him as one, we have listed down a couple of builds that you might want to consider-

Cao Cao mobility talent tree

Cao Cao mobility talent tree

Cao Cao mobility talent tree is the fastest talent tree build in Rise Of Kingdoms. With this Cao Cao Talent Tree , you are trading speed for damage. Cao Cao is using the fastest troops in the game and that is cavalry. Now on top of that, Cao Cao has bonus march speed from his skill and when you combine it with Cao Cao Talent Tree you will have the fastest commander in ROK.

Now the Cao Cao mobility talent tree is great in old kingdoms, for getting runes, capturing buildings in AOO, getting Ark in AOO, hunting, and gathering troops. Possibilities are insane especially if you are playing Rise of Kingdoms on PC. The only problem with this talent tree is that it is not for PVP. So if you are in an older kingdom use this talent tree and avoid fighting against strong players. You will get destroyed.

Cao Cao Talent Tree Build For FIELD PVP

Rise Of Kingdoms Cao Cao Field Fights Talent Tree Build

If your aim is not going fast and rather brawl, this is the build you should go for. This build is suitable if you are looking for action that is just making the use of mobility.

As you can see, we have invested almost all the points on cavalry; it is because we are trying to get something done. The aim is not to run away but to barge. This build is definitely a go-go thing if you want to battle with the barbarians.

Cao Cao Talent Tree Mobility and Barbs

Rise Of Kingdoms Cao Cao Mobility Talent Tree Build

Unlike the previous build, this build focuses on damage and evasion more.  However, as you can see, the core of the build remains more or less the same. You can leverage all the amazing skills that Cao Cao has and use them to their maximum potential in this build.

You can consider putting the points in alacrity and swiftness instead of the points we invested in the cavalry tree. It is completely your choice; analyze the situation you are in and make the build.

Cao Cao Guide

This in-depth guide is great for the new and old rise of kingdom players. In this in-depth guide, you will learn everything about Cao Cao’s skills, mobility talent tree, how to use him in old and new kingdoms, etc. You will understand that Cao Cao is worth having and investing.

Cao Cao is among the top Cavalry Commanders in Rise of Kingdoms and high on tier list for new players. He is considered one of the greatest warlords in Chinese history. After all, Cao Cao is regarded as one of history’s finest military strategists.

Cao Cao in ROK is one of the legendary commanders that can be obtained through the golden chest as well as through daily special offers. When you purchase a special daily offer, you will receive Treasure, which may contain Cao Cao sculptures.

These chests are given out on a daily basis, and you are guaranteed to receive at least one Cao Cao sculpture from three chests. So, if you’re a big spender, go ahead and get all three chests. It will speed the process of maxing and leveling the Cao Cao talent tree.

You will need 680 Cao Cao sculptures to max him but when you add sculptures from gold chests and daily offers you will max him very fast.

But his cavalry talents are not the only qualities that make him a competent cavalry commander. His mobility talent tree, mobility skills, and cavalry talent tree are also important.

Besides his brilliant cavalry strategies, Cao Cao is an amazing nuker. He may not have the strongest nuking skills. However, his mobility enables him to win and back down from tougher opponents.

But is investing in this commander worth it in 2024? Do you think you will make a fair deal? Well, honestly, many things have changed in 2024, and you have to consider it. In this guide, we will help you in making the right decision. So, let’s begin without further ado.

Is Cao Cao good?

Cao Cao is one of the commanders you will encounter frequently on new servers and if you are a new player. He is a one-of-a-kind commander. He is fantastic for new kingdoms, but his power diminishes as your kingdom grows older. There will be new commanders who are much stronger, such as G.Khan and Attila, but you will still use Cao Cao on a daily basis.

You will use him every day primarily because of his great talent tree. You can view the Rise of Kingdoms tier list to see how he compares to other commanders.

Is Cao Cao Worth Your Investment?

Cao Cao, also known as the Conqueror of Chaos, is a fantastic commander. Even though he’s a Legendary commander, and you don’t get them often as a free-to-play player, it isn’t easy to get and Skill Up.

The question is – Is it okay to invest in Cao Cao in 2024? Well, in our opinion, it is not. Rise of Kingdoms is just not about running around to smash the farmers. You must do a lot to get the job done by this commander. You cannot make the best moves with Cao Cao even in KvK. There are some excellent commanders like Belisarius, and they are seriously awesome competitors.

There are many cavalry commanders now; you have so many options to choose from at present. It was not the case earlier, but you have some really good alternatives to Cao Cao in Rise of Kingdoms.

Cao Cao is a peacemaker, and he has got 50% damage to the barbarians. But there are other commanders that have the same skill now. The other alternatives are Moctezuma, who can cause the same amount of damage to the Barbarians.

Nonetheless, Cao Cao does not have an area of effect damage, which is very useful for the murder balls in the end game. You will be astounded to know that you have plenty of other options that have the relevant skills like Diaochan and Kira.

As you can see, the once strong and irreplaceable commander Cao Cao can be replaced by some very good alternatives. It is not like we are against him or something. It’s just that his role has diminished considerably over time.

We suggest you get him using the gold key and save your universals for something better. You need to go slow with him and leverage his skills. Cutting it short, Cao Cao is not worth your investment in 2024.

Is The Mobility Of Cao Cao Really Something You Can Benefit From?

Now that you know there are a lot of commanders that can give tough competition to Cao Cao, it’s time to talk about his mobility.

Cao Cao is known as the “King of Speed” because of his tremendous mobility. He is the fastest commander because of his march speed that is the result of his mobility talents. But the question arises – is his mobility enough to successfully kill the barbarians?

The Barbarians are now tougher than ever before, and just getting to the fort faster won’t help. You will have to beat them as much as possible, but considering the third skill, we can say it is going to be tough for Cao Cao. His fast-marching speed will be useless if he can’t do considerable damage to his opponents.

Cao Cao Pairings

Read more about our best commander pairings

CAO CAO can be paid with any cavalry commander. The best Cao Cao pairs for field battles are Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Pelagius, and Baibars. For destroying barbarian forts, the best pairs for Cao Cao are Boudica, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Aethelflaed. For a fast march speed, pair Cao Cao with Belisarius. It is always suggested to pair Cao Cao with a commander that has good Rage. We cannot go through all the pairings, but here are some of the best commanders that you can pair Cao Cao with.

Boudica iconBoudica

This is the best duo for barbarian forts killing. You will use Boudica as primary and Cao as a secondary commander simply because Boudica talent tree is better for fighting barbarians. All you need is Cao Cao first skill and with Boudica nuke, you will melt barbarian forts.

Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune iconMinamoto no Yoshitsune

Minamoto and Cao Cao is one of the best nuke pairings in the game. The amount of nuke is insane, and if you see archers on the field, pay attention to them. Dmg will cause them to melt. You can use this duo to destroy barbarian forts. Use Minamoto no Yoshitsune as the primary commander and Cao as the secondary commander simply because you will get much better sats from the Minamoto talent tree.

Pelagius iconPelagius

Pelagius and Cao Cao is a f2p duo if you do not have Minamoto. Pelagius will provide defense and some healing and Cao Cao will nuke targets. Do not kill forts with this combo because it will be slower. Better is to use Boudica and Cao. This is yet another powerful pair. Cao Cao will nuke targets while Pelagius provides defense and some healing. Because this combo is slower, it should not be used to destroy forts. It is preferable to utilize Boudica and Cao Cao. If you planning to use this pair for PVP then you must use the Pelagius talent tree for more rage and survivability.

Baibars iconBaibars

Baibars can also be a good pairing option. You can leverage the Rage of this commander and the mobility skills together to get the most out of it. Use Cao Cao as the primary commander if you need mobility but for PVP use Baibars talent tree build because it will give you more rage and skill damage.

Belisarius iconBelisarius

Baibars can also be a good pairing option. You can leverage the Rage of this commander and the mobility skills together to get the most out of it. Belisarius talent tree is similar to Cao Cao so it does not matter too much which commander you will use as primary.

Saladin iconSaladin

Saladin is another great pairing option. He has a lot of Rages, and you can leverage it for getting high up on time on the debuff. He has exceptionally great single target damage, and you can use the pair to get the best results. Always use Saladin as the primary commander for PVP simply because Saladin talent tree is much better for damage.

Genghis-Khan iconGenghis Khan

He’ll be the ideal pair commander for Cao Cao because of his great Skill damage, cavalry upgrades, and swift Rage recovery. It is going to be a destructive pair with a lot of harm. When it comes to PVP there is no point in using Cao Cao as primary commander because the talent tree from Khan will give you all you need.

Cao Cao skill order

When you get your Cao Cao you want to keep him on 1 star till you max his first skill. His first skill is best and you want to have it maxed first.

Now you want to get him on max level. Now you are wondering why? Simply because you do not want to get his second skill maxed if you are planning to use Cao Cao for PVP. It is not worth it and when you max his stars you will have a higher chance to get a third and fourth skill. If you are planning to use Cao Cao primarily for fighting barbarians you can go for a second skill.

Cao Cao Skills

Dragon Rider Cao Cao Skill Dragon Rider

It damages the target by Damage Factor 1400. It also reduces the target’s march speed by 10% and attack by 40% for 3 seconds. Dragon Rider is the best Cao Cao skill. it will deal great amounts of nuke damage and reduce enemy troop’s attacks by 40% and march speed by 10%. The duration is 3 sec and that is great.

Cao Cao Skill The Qingzhou Army The Qingzhou Army

Barbarian damage is increased by 50% with this particular skill. This skill is useless for PVP but it is great. Why? You will be able to destroy barbarians forts without problems especially if you are a new player. An overall great skill for new players.

Cao Cao Skill Tiger Knight Tiger Knight

It increases the march attacking power of cavalry units by 30% and their march speed by 30%. This is one of the most amazing skills of Cao Cao. If you use it properly, you can definitely do good in ROK. This skill is great for boosting Cao Cao’s march speed. It will increase your attack by 30% which is great if you are a new player. This skill is great for hunting farmers during the mightiest governor.

Cao Cao Skill Lofty Ambition Lofty Ambition

Normal troop attacks have about 10% chance of healing a part of the damaged units, restoring 100 fits of Rage, and increasing the march speed of troops by 20% for about 3 seconds. Only once per 5 seconds can the effect be triggered.

Cao Cao Skill Emperor Wu of We Emperor Wu of We

It increases cavalry assault by 25% while lowering cavalry defense by 10%. This skill is certainly not just considering that it is 2024. The attack should have been at least 45% against 10% loss.

There can be multiple approaches to using these skills cleverly. You might want to consider locking the skills and gaining the points for others. For example, locking the second skill and the fourth skill will let you maximize the first and the third skills.
